Karnataka Home Minister Dr. G Parameshwara on Wednesday said he would not allow ‘ota Bengaluru’ to happen as he vowed that he would not allow drug menace to grow in the city.
The home minister said he had given six months to the Dakshina Kannada district authorities to control the drug trade.
There was a movie “Udta Punjab” means Punjab fly. There are fears that Bengaluru may also become an ‘Udta Bengaluru’. We will never let this happen, Parameshwara told the Karnataka State Assembly.
The discussion arose when Congress MLA Basavaraj Rayareddy alleged that several resorts in Gangavati and Anegundi in Koppal district had become hubs for illegal activities such as drugs, prostitution and gambling.
