Prime Minister Modi’s visit strengthens India-France relations as he engages in wide-ranging talks with President Macron and attends French National Day celebrations.

French President Emmanuel Macron warmly hosted Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday for a private dinner at the Elysee Palace in Paris. On his two-day visit to France, Modi was welcomed by Macron and French First Lady on a momentous occasion to cement the ties between the two leaders and cherish the deep-rooted bilateral ties.

Prime Minister Modi has arrived here for a two-day visit during which he will hold wide-ranging talks with Macron and join him for the French National Day celebrations as guest of honour.

PMnarendramodi was warmly received by President Emmanuel Macron for a private dinner at the historic Elysee Palace. “It is an occasion for the two leaders to strengthen the bonds of friendship between them and cherish the deep-rooted ties between India and France,” Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said in a tweet.

Prime Minister Modi’s extensive two-day trip includes a slew of engagements with French leadership, the Indian diaspora, CEOs and dignitaries.

On the first day of his two-day visit to France, Prime Minister Modi addressed the Indian community in Paris, emphasizing India’s economic growth, poverty alleviation, and global impact. Celebrating the partnership between India and France, it highlights the country’s strength and the creation of a mini-India wherever Indians go.

“Caring for living connects India and France. PMnarendramodi interacted with the Indian diaspora in France. The Prime Minister highlighted the multi-faceted bonds between India and France. He values ​​the Indian community for strengthening bilateral ties,” Paji said in an earlier tweet.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the steps India has taken in various fields and called on members of the diaspora to explore investment opportunities in India.

Before his departure, Modi expressed confidence that his visit will provide new impetus for the bilateral strategic partnership. Expanding bilateral defense ties is expected to be a major focus of PM Modi’s talks with Macron.

Modi said his visit to France was particularly special, as he would join President Macron for the French National Day celebrations, or the Bastille Day celebrations in Paris as a guest of honour.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the strategic partnership between India and France. Rooted in deep trust and commitment, the two countries cooperate closely across various fields including defence, aerospace, civil nuclear energy, the blue economy, trade and investment, education, culture and people-to-people relations.

From Paris, Prime Minister Modi will head to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, for an official visit on July 15.
