Thai Superlek Kiatmoo9 doesn’t let success get the best of him and instead chooses to grind it like the rest of the field.
The Kicking Machine signed with ONE Championship in 2019 and has steadily established itself as one of the promotion’s most reliable fighters.
In 11 fights so far, he’s won all but one of his fights, and earlier this year he captured the vacant kickboxing world flyweight title. He is also a top contender in Muay Thai in the flyweight division.
But despite all the success he has achieved, Superlek does not consider himself a superstar but more of a warrior who wants to continue giving his best.
The 27-year-old Kiatmoo9 Gym partnered with a team South China Morning Post In an interview:
“I wouldn’t consider myself a superstar in ONE Championship. I still want to give my best in every fight, and yeah, I don’t consider myself at that superstar level yet.”
Check out the interview below:
Superlek returns to action on July 14 at ONE Fight Night 12 on Prime Video in Bangkok. He will meet Russia’s Tagir Khalilov in the Muay Thai flyweight bout, part of the event being held at the Lumpini Boxing Stadium.
The Thai juggernaut is fighting to make a short turnaround as he comes just three weeks after his last outing. It will also be his fourth appearance in ONE for the year alone, having also fought in January and March.
Tagir Khalilov, meanwhile, is aiming for his third straight win after winning his last two matches in impressive fashion by finishing in the opening round.
ONE Fight Night 12 is available for free to Prime Video subscribers in North America.
