Undisputed world heavyweight champion Anatoly Malykhin warned Amir Ali Akbari’s line not to get ahead of himself.
Sladky faced the Iranian fighter in September 2021, knocking him out in the opening round with powerful punches. It’s something Malekhin said he was sure would repeat if they crossed paths again.
He participated in ONE Championship in an interview:
“So, Aliyakari thinks he is winning now and that he has found his game. When he meets me, I will show him where he is again and show him what he can really do.”
Malekhine is fresh from uniting the heavyweight belts last month after dispatching former division king Arjan Bahular to a technical knockout (punches) in the third round. The win made him a bona fide double world champion as he is also the promotion’s light heavyweight king.
Meanwhile, Amir Ali Al-Akbari is set to witness action on July 14 at ONE Fight Night 12 on Prime Video at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok. The Force will fight in Tehran with Canadian Dustin Joynson in a distinguished heavyweight mixed martial arts showdown.
Amir Ali Al-Akbari is currently in the running to win two fights. He defeated Italian Mauro Cirelli by TKO (elbows) in the second round of their match last August. He then again served a technical knockout (elbow and punches) in the opening round of former single and now retired world heavyweight champion Brandon Vera back in December in Manila.
For his part, Dustin Joynson had his last participation in February 2022, achieving a split victory over Brazilian Hugo Cuna.
ONE Fight Night 12 is available for free to Prime Video subscribers in North America.
