Police said the woman first poisoned the boy and then dumped his body in a body of water in Sambal district

Police said Wednesday that a woman killed her eight-year-old son for seeing her with a neighbor with whom he was having an illegal physical relationship.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Noida) Anil Kumar Yadav said that four people including the woman and her partner have been arrested for the murder of the child.

The woman has been identified as Puri, 45, and her partner as Ombal Singh, 53, who works as a railway master and lives in Greater Noida. Police said the mother first poisoned the child and then dumped him in a water basin in Sambal district.

The police said they had also arrested Manak – Bahori’s brother-in-law and the child’s uncle – who helped them dump the body. The father of the child’s sister-in-law, Amar Singh, was also arrested for his involvement in hiding the boy’s body.

Police said the child’s father, Kalyan, who was unaware of his wife’s illicit affair, filed a missing persons complaint after the boy’s disappearance on July 2. They said the FIR was provided three days later on July 5 at the local Badalpur police station.

On July 7, the body of the child was found in Sambal district, and the autopsy report showed that the cause of death was “drowned,” DCP Yadav said. The officer said that the boy’s father told the police that Sambal was his hometown.

“During the investigation it was found that the mother of the boy Bhori, the main accused in this case, was having an affair with Ombal Singh. On the night of June 28, the child saw Puri and Ombal together.”

The officer said, “The mother and her partner decided to eliminate the child, fearing that he would reveal their relationship to others, which could lead to shame for them among their families and society.”

“The child disappeared on July 2 and the family filed a missing complaint only on July 5. Puri knew his whereabouts. She knew that the boy had gone to the house of his sister who is married from Kalyan’s first marriage.”

He added, “On July 6, she went to her daughter’s house, took the boy with her, and gave him salvas poison.”

Amar Singh, not wanting to get into any legal trouble due to the child’s attempt to kill the child in his house, contacted Manak to get rid of the boy, Brahmpal Singh, in charge of the Badalpur Police Station of the PTI agency.

The police officer added that Manak, the boy’s uncle, agreed to help as he was also involved in an illegal relationship with Bhori in the past.

DCP Yadav said Amar Singh and Manak took the child to Sambal and dumped him in a body of water, where he died.

The four accused confessed to masterminding the plot for interrogation, the police said, adding that Ombal and Puri were the main plotters.

The FIR was first filed under IPC Section 363 (missing person) and later Sections 302 (murder), 201 (causing evidence to disappear), 120b (criminal conspiracy), and 34 (act by several Common Intent Persons) and 506 (criminal) intimidation) have been added to the case, police said.

The police added that the accused appeared before a local court on Wednesday, where they were transferred to judicial custody.
