Georges St-Pierre is still in the ring and keeps up to date on what’s happening in the UFC, and he recently indicated that he’s a huge fan of the current champ.
while appearing on MMA watchSt-Pierre revealed that Aleksandar Volkanovski is one of his favorite fighters to watch at the moment. He had high praise for the reigning featherweight champion and stated that he thought he was the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world:
“He’s one of my favorite fighters to watch, and I love watching him. I think he’s the best right now…he’s probably the best active fighter, the best pound-for-pound right now…he’s one of the fighters that was able to beat the older generation, he beat his generation And now he is beginning to defeat the future generation.”
The UFC Hall of Famer was also asked if he sees any similarities between him and “Volk”. He stated that he sees some as the featherweight champion being very close and continuing to improve in all areas, saying:
“He’s not a specialist, he’s very good all around… I wasn’t the best at something, but I was good all around, so I managed to become the perfect enemy for my opponent and I think he uses a similar strategy when someone fights, he always takes his opponent out.” his comfort zone.”
It’s great to see a Hall of Famer like St-Pierre compliment energetic fighters like Alexander Volkanovski because it shows that legends are noticing the greatness of the featherweight champion.

Georges St-Pierre is scheduled to officially compete on December 14th
Georges St-Pierre is officially out of retirement, but not to compete in MMA. Instead, the Canadian MMA legend will compete in a wrestling match, which is set to be broadcast live UFC combat pass on the 14th of December.
During the celebrity appearance, Rush stated that he did not have an opponent yet, but would rather compete against him at 170 pounds. He stated that he is not competing for a rank or to prove that he is the best wrestler, but he wants his opponent to be someone who excites the fans, saying:
“I think it’s up to the audience to choose who they want to see and I think he has to be a formidable opponent as well. Like someone from a wrestler background. I’m not really interested in fighting someone more than an impressive background.”
