Son Heung-Min sent a message to Dele Alli as the Englishman recently had a heartbreaking interview with Gary Neville.
While Alli was one of the best prospects in English football during his Tottenham Hotspur tenure, his fall from grace was quite extraordinary. After a turbulent loan spell at Besiktas, Alli is now back at Everton.
He revealed some amazing details about his life in the interview with Neville. Ali said he was sexually assaulted at the age of six. He added that he started smoking at the age of seven. The midfielder continued to make some amazing revelations during the interview.
Ali, who was once considered the next big thing in English football, was in tears as he spoke to Neville. Son, Alli’s former teammate at Tottenham, uploaded an Instagram story:
“Your brave words will help a lot of people. Proud of you buddy.”
Dele Alli bared it all in his latest interview with Gary Neville on The Overlap. The Everton player has spoken about the traumatic experiences he has gone through in his life so far. Ali said (via Sky Sports):
“There were some incidents that can give you a brief understanding. At six, I was molested by my mom’s friend who was at home a lot. My mom was an alcoholic.”
he added:
“I was sent to Africa to learn discipline. Then I was sent back. Seven, I started smoking. Eight, I started dealing drugs, selling drugs. An older person told me they wouldn’t stop a kid, so I’d ride around with my soccer ball and then underneath I’d take drugs” .
Ali went on to say:
“Eleven, a guy from the next estate hung me on a bridge. At 12, I was adopted. Since then I’ve been adopted by a wonderful family, I couldn’t ask for better people doing what they’ve done for me… If only God made people , to understand. They are amazing and have helped me a lot. “
Alli was a great player for Tottenham Hotspur during the early part of his career. He played 269 matches for Tottenham, scoring 67 goals and providing 61 assists.
Alli also represented England at the international level 37 times. Fans hope Dele Alli can bounce back and realize the huge potential he has.
