A 28-year-old from Mumbai died while receiving treatment, two days after an alleged road rage-related incident in which he was dragged away by a dump truck driver after a heated argument.
Police said the man, Narendra Pawar, died on Tuesday evening. The road rage incident occurred on SV Road early Sunday.
Police said the accident took place on the SV road early Sunday when Pawar, along with his friend, was riding his bicycle and clashed with the truck driver as they tried to turn. The situation escalated into a physical altercation, prompting Pawar to begin recording the driver’s actions. In response, the driver began to verbally abuse him. Enraged, Pawar tried to open the truck door, but the driver started to steer the vehicle, pulling Pawar a certain distance. Eventually, Pawar fell to the ground when a dump truck crashed into a barrier, a police officer recalled.
After the accident, the driver fled the scene, and Pawar was immediately taken to a nearby hospital by his friends. Goregaon Police registered a case and arrested the driver Parmatma Sahani under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for the crime of first degree murder not amounting to murder.
