Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who was visiting Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Puri at his office in Nirman Bhawan on Friday, took the opportunity to respond to his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal’s statement that Haryana released extra water into the Yamuna river, which led to floods in Capital. Speaking to the media with Buri standing next to him, Khattar said the river water level has crossed the threshold of the barrage and it cannot be stopped. He said he told Kejriwal that it was a barrage, not a dam. It is a natural disaster and should not be politicized, he said, adding that many districts of Haryana have also been affected. After the meeting, Puri said in a tweet that he had discussed expansion of the metro network in Haryana with Khattar.

Souvenir payment

There appears to be a series of efforts to cement the image of the new Parliament building. The souvenir shop, currently housed in the Parliament Annex building, had plaques, pen holders, pens/pencils, scarves, and mug sets with the old Parliament House crest for visitors to purchase as well as to gift to VIPs. The new building will have such counters for members and visitors and the items will be much more than that. Expert opinions were sought to introduce new commodities with the new Parliament House as the theme to replace the old Parliament House images, which are stuck in people’s minds until now. Sources said it is in the process of being completed.
