Paul Pogba has hit back on social media after Benjamin Mendy has been found not guilty of the rape charge leveled against him. The jury rendered its verdict in the case and Mindy was acquitted.
The French left-back, who played for clubs such as Manchester City, Monaco and Olympique de Marseille during his career, has been accused of rape by several women.
A 24-year-old woman has claimed that Mindy sexually misbehaved with her in 2020 at the player’s Cheshire home. However, another 29-year-old woman accused Mindy of doing the same in 2018.
However, the 28-year-old was found not guilty as the jury ruled that all of these acts were consensual. Mandy maintained this position throughout the proceedings of the case.
Paul Pogba has now responded that Benjamin Mendy is not guilty. The former Manchester United player and current Juventus midfielder posted on Instagram:
“Thank God 🤲🏾 So happy for you bro.. all the people who were talking bad about you now I want to see them clean your name I can’t wait to see the pitch again.”
Paul Pogba returned to Juventus from Manchester United in the summer of 2022. However, the player suffered a meniscus injury in pre-season that caused him to miss the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Pogba has had persistent injury problems throughout the season. His on-field appearances were limited to just 10 during the 2022-23 campaign. Pogba responded to Misery and described how it affected him. The skilled midfielder said (via Get French Football News):
“It’s made me grow so much. These past few months have made me grow so much, they’ve made me understand so many things about life. I’m 10 years old in seven months (laughs)!” things positively.
He further added:
“I’m a believer, so I see these things as stages and tests. They are tests that helped me develop, as I matured and learned a lot of things in life. I learned what the important things were. So I was taking it positively and that was a boost for me. Honestly, right now, It’s all behind me. It really shaped me.”
The future of Juventus, Paul Pogba, is still in the balance. The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner reportedly has a staggering £128m offer on the table to leave the Bianconeri. An undisclosed Saudi club made Pogba an impressive offer.
