The Belarusian Ministry of Defense said, on Friday, that fighters from the Russian Wagner mercenary group are training soldiers in Belarus.

The Belarusian Ministry of Defense said that Wagner fighters worked as trainers in a number of military specialties.
Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko helped broker a deal to end Wagner’s brief armed insurrection on June 23-24, when the group took control of the southern Russian city of Rostov and headed toward Moscow, shooting down a number of military helicopters and killing their pilots. .
Under the agreement, Wagner’s chief Yevgeny Prigozhin resigned from his mercenaries and agreed to move to Belarus in exchange for Russia dropping rebellion accusations.
Prigozhin had not been seen in public since he left Rostov on 24 June.
