The updated data at 8 am showed that the number of deaths due to the disease rose to 5,31,914 and the number of infections reached Rs 4.49 crore (4,49,94,819).

India has recorded a one-day high of 54 new COVID-19 infections and the number of active cases now stands at 1,408, according to data from the Federal Ministry of Health updated on Saturday.

The updated data at 8 am showed that the number of deaths due to the disease rose to 5,31,914 and the number of infections reached 4.49 crore (4,49,94,819).

The national recovery rate from COVID-19 has been recorded at 98.81 percent, according to the Ministry of Health website.

The number of people who recovered from the disease rose to 4,44,61,497, while the case fatality rate reached 1.18%, according to the data.

According to the ministry’s website, 220.66 crore vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination campaign.
