Prime Minister Modi on Friday extended an invitation to France after a successful two-day visit to the country, which heralded a new chapter in India-France relations (Image-ANI)
India and France signed a large number of agreements covering various sectors such as space, civil aviation, museology, petroleum and business, in addition to revealing a roadmap for partnership over the next 25 years, titled Horizon 2047.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned on Saturday after “successful” visits to France and the United Arab Emirates.
In France, the Prime Minister was the guest of honor at the Bastille Day parade, which saw the participation of a tri-service Indian Armed Forces contingent led by a military contingent to mark the 25th anniversary of the India-France strategic partnership.
India and France signed a large number of agreements covering various sectors such as space, civil aviation, museology, petroleum and business, in addition to revealing a roadmap for partnership over the next 25 years, titled Horizon 2047.
India and France are also exploring the possibilities of joint development and co-production of major military platforms for export to friendly countries and intensifying cooperation in the field of space marine awareness.
In the UAE, Modi met President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the two leaders agreed to start settling trade in their currencies, linking their express payment systems to make international financial interactions simpler, and opening a campus for IIT-Delhi in the Gulf country.
The Prime Minister also met with the appointed head of the United Nations Climate Conference, Sultan Al-Jaber. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Baghi described the prime minister’s visit to France and the UAE as “successful” and “transformative”.
