Several parts of Delhi were flooded after heavy rains as the Yamuna flowed over the danger mark.

Immediately upon his return to Delhi from abroad, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday spoke to Governor V. K. Saxena to inquire about progress in dealing with the flood-like situation in the national capital.

But river levels followed a downward trend on Saturday, allowing authorities to open roads and ease traffic as floodwaters receded from many areas.

“On his arrival in Delhi, the Chief Minister spoke to LG in Delhi about the state of the flood-like situation in Delhi due to the Yamuna River and the progress of mitigation,” said an official. Modi was on a three-day visit to France and the UAE.
