New York Liberty protector Sabrina Ionescu called up Steve Curry of the Golden State Warriors after her historic performance in the WNBA 3-Point Contest. She emerged victorious and left the competition with a trophy in her hand.

After winning the competition, Sabrina wasted no time in shooting her to play against Carrie in a three-point contest. The 5-foot-11 guard took to Twitter to ask the four-time NBA champion if he was ready for a three-point fight.

Ionescu had a great night shooting as she set both the NBA and WNBA record for most points in the three-point contest. Al Qaeda finished with 37 points, and a 25-27 going into the final round. She cleaned almost all the shelves that were set up for her.

Missing only two shots, Ionescu immediately became the talk of the town and caught the eye of the NBA’s all-time leader in three-pointers – Curry.

“Ridiculous! @sabrina_i20,” Carey tweeted.

The ball is now on Curry’s side as it may be his turn to take part in next season’s three-point contest. However, it might be hard to do a better job than what Ionescu did. But fans should be prepared because Curry can come out and surprise everyone with an even more impressive performance.

Steph Curry has made history in more ways than one when it comes to talking about the three-point bow. He has managed to break Ray Allen’s record of 2,973 in just 13 seasons. Curry set the record early in the 2021-22 season against the New York Knicks and never stops shots from outside the arc.

Another two-time MVP record when talking about the three-point zone is the feat he achieved in 2021. Curry finished with 31 points to win the three-point contest, which underwent a realignment in 2019.

The Warriors star had a great night hitting the ball and shooting 70% that night. With his win in 2021, the 35-year-old became a two-time winner of the NBA Three-Point Contest, an annual event during All-Star Weekend. Curry still looks to be in his prime and could be involved in the future.

Fellow All-Star, Klay Thompson, got multiple opportunities to join in the festivities. During 2016 All-Star Weekend, Thompson won the competition, denying Curry the chance to win another title in consecutive years. The shooting guard went 27-34, hitting 79.4% of his shots.
