Police said a man was shot with an air gun by someone said to be a TV actor at a resort villa here on Saturday over domestic issues involving the children of the former child.
The incident occurred within the confines of Shamirpet Police Station and the case was registered based on the complaint of the victim. A senior police official said the actor had been arrested and an investigation was underway.
“The person who fired the air gun, it appears that he is an actor and is being questioned. We have confiscated this air gun,” the official said.
The victim, an employee of a Visakhapatnam-based company, and his wife separated in 2019. The woman was staying with her two children (a boy and a girl) with the actor, police said, adding that the man had gone to a villa to take his daughter with him.
The police said that an altercation broke out between the actor and the man, and the first shot him with an air gun, adding that no one was injured in the incident.
Police said the woman accused her ex-husband of trying to threaten them, which led to the arguments.
The actor is also said to be running a software company with the woman as a partner, the official said, but this information has yet to be verified.
More investigations are ongoing.
