The incident reportedly took place after two drunken men — Jawahar Patel and Gulab Kaul — had a fight, the former urinating on Kaul’s ear, the agency quoted a senior police official as saying.

In another horrific incident reported from Sonbhadra in Uttar Pradesh, a man allegedly urinated on the ear of a Dalit fan after an argument.

The incident took place in the Sanbadra jail area on 11 July and the alleged video of the incident surfaced on social media and received backlash.

The incident reportedly took place after a row between two drunken men – Jawahar Patel and Gulab Kaul, the former urinating on Kaul’s ear, PTI news agency quoted a senior police official as saying.

According to India Today, the victim, who was said to be a Dalit, was under the influence of alcohol when the shameful act took place due to his being unaware of what happened to him. But when he came across the video of the accident, he filed an FIR

After Gulab Kaul’s complaint, Patel and his accomplice were arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Police.

The incident comes after the arrest of four men who were arrested in connection with a similar case in Sunbhadara in U.P.

In the video, an employee of the Electricity Department was seen twisting the complainant’s arm, pushing him to the ground, climbing onto his chest, and slapping him. He was also alleged to have forced the complainant to lick his own sole.

In his complaint filed with the police on July 8, Rajendra Chamar said he belonged to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and was assaulted by an employee of the Energy Department.

On July 6, he went to his uncle’s house as the power had gone out. He was trying to locate the fault when a DOE contracting employee, Tegbali Singh Patel, began hurling abuse at him. He hurled sectarian words at the complainant and made him lick his chappal. And then the locals intervened.”

The National Scheduled Caste Commission (NCSC) issued a notice last week to the Uttar Pradesh government about the shameful act.
