The Cincinnati Reds have taken the baseball world by storm. They are in first place in the National League Central thanks to the emergence of rookie sensation Eli de la Cruz.

Reportedly, they have been contacting teams hoping to add a starting pitcher to their rotation before the trade deadline. They’ve been talked to multiple teams but seem to have chosen the Chicago White Sox.

The White Sox is a team that many have called out in recent weeks. They would likely be a sellout at the deadline, with a 38-54 record, eight games outside of first place.

Many around the league believe Lucas Giolito and Lance Lane will be some of the names Chicago tries to move forward. They also have Dylan Cease, who will be a free agent after the 2025 season.

The stop is probably the least likely to be a transfer, but Giolito or Lin could soon see themselves in a Cincinnati Reds outfit. Signing either pitcher will boost the Reds’ starting rotation, making them an absolutely formidable team.

The Reds will be tested to start the second half of the season. They kicked off Friday with a three-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers, who are eliminating their hurdles. This will be an important series, as coming out hot against the Brewers will increase their lead in the NL Central.

Next, they have a series against the San Francisco Giants and the hot Arizona Diamondbacks. They will play the Brewers again before traveling to Los Angeles to take on the Dodgers.

This is a difficult period of gaming. There will be no easy days for them in July. The Reds need to get out there and maintain the momentum they’ve built for themselves before the All-Star break.
