Flood waters have begun to recede in several places across Haryana even as relief work continues in the affected areas. At least 13 districts including Ambala, Fatehabad, Faridabad, Jhajjar and Keithal are still severely affected by the flood waters.
Medical camps set up by the state government to prevent an outbreak of disease have begun to receive cases of snake bites and gastroenteritis, along with dysentery and conjunctivitis.
Thousands of hectares of farmland are still saturated with water in many districts including Ambala, Yamunanagar, Karnal, Palwal, Kurukshetra, Keithal, Panipat, Sonipat, Sirsa and Jhajjar.
According to the flood bulletin issued by the Ministry of Health on Saturday evening, there are still 416 villages affected by the floods, while 32 urban areas were affected.
Meanwhile, MP Dushyant Chautala on Saturday toured Faridabad district and instructed officials to expedite relief and rescue measures.
