A woman in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, was arrested for allegedly strangling her two-day-old daughter’s baby to death in a private hospital late Thursday night. Police said the accused had hoped her daughter’s second child, who was born on Tuesday, would be a boy but was disappointed when he learned the infant was a girl.

The child’s father, Danish Khan, 30, filed a first media report in this regard at Sayana Police Station on Friday, claiming that his mother-in-law, Mina, 45, a resident of Hasanpur locality in Meerut, killed the infant. Police arrested Mina on Friday evening on charges of premeditated murder.

According to FIR, Ayesha Khatun, 22, gave birth to a baby girl in a private hospital in Bulandshahr. Her eldest daughter is two years old. Danish said, “My mother-in-law came to take care of my wife in the hospital on Wednesday morning and stayed with Ayesha in the hospital. Thursday night, Ayesha asked her mother to take the baby out of the intensive care unit (ICU) to get fresh air. My mother-in-law took my daughter out of the ICU and when she came back, he was dead.” The New Born “.

Shailendra Pratap Singh, in-charge of Sayana Police Station said, “Surveillance camera footage from the hospital revealed that Meena took the newborn out of the ICU and when she returned, she asked the doctor there to examine the baby who was then found to be dead.
