Rapper Badshah recently opened up about Mafia Mundeer, who are known for doing songs like Khol Botal, Begani Naar Buri and Delhi Ke Deewane.” Badshah revealed that at first it was just him and Honey Singh is in the group, but later, a conflict arose between them when Hani decided to pursue a solo career. Badshah further opened up about Honey becoming self-centered and disregarding the other members of the collective’s music group. Raftaar, Eka and Lil Gulu were also part of Mandir mafia.
On the Raj Shamani podcast, Badshah said, “Mafia Mandir was an idea, like-minded people got together. In the first place it was just me and Honey. In 2009, there was a break between me and Honey. I was doing a job and I was very scared. It was Honey too. Off the radar and when I tried to contact him, he dodged my calls. But until the time we were in Mafia Mundeer, we had never met. If we had, maybe things would have been different.”
Discussing his beef with Honey, the rapper mentioned that Honey seemed to focus only on his career, becoming “self-centered”. Badshah said: We made the songs, but they were not released. Honey was just focused on his career. I was associated with Mafia Mundeer since 2006, and by 2009 my parents were very worried about me. In 2011, my first song with Honey was released – “Get up Jawani”.
Badshah said those who challenged him for five years changed him. He said, as if speaking to Hani, “We also make up many songs, please think of us too. We left everything behind and came here. You (dear) don’t have to be selfish. On the one hand you call us brothers, but on the other Others, fail to acknowledge our struggles. He made us sign blank papers. What about those contracts? It was a difficult phase.”
Reports indicate that Badshah and Honey were good friends, but their relationship took a turn when Badshah left Mafia Mundeer. Eventually, other members also left, leading to the band’s disbandment in 2012.
