The incident took place in Suratgarh district when Jum Khan went to his daughter Chinu Banu’s room in the early hours and allegedly strangled her.
A man has been arrested for allegedly strangling his 22-year-old daughter to death in Srijanjanagar district of Rajasthan state on Sunday, police said.
They added that the accused opposed his daughter’s relationship with a man.
Sub-Inspector Sohanlal said the incident took place in Suratgarh district when Jum Khan went to his daughter Chinu Banu’s room in the early hours and allegedly strangled her.
Sohanlal said Khan told his brother about the incident before he ran away.
Sohanlal said the police was informed after Khan’s brother revealed the alleged murder to Sarpanch village.
Police said the accused was later arrested under Section 302 (Murder) of the Indian Penal Code.
Banu was preparing for competitive exams. ASI said she used to meet her partner when she ventured out of her home every day to attend classes at a training center in Suratgarh.
He added, “Khan was against the relationship and thus killed his daughter.”
