Criticizing opposition parties for their low strength in the legislature, Prime Minister Eknath Shinde said on Sunday that the opposition is nowhere to be seen and the matter is confused.

Confused opposition lost its pride. “What we’re seeing today is an opposition that has lost its nerve,” Shinde said. One has to look for opposition in the Assembly, said Shinde. Although they are a weak front, we will not give them a secondary status. He said the issues raised by the opposition would be answered and taken note of.

Shinde claimed that the government has the support of more than 210 paralegals in the 288-member assembly. It has reduced the strength of the opposition to just 78.
