In the third match of the Ultimate Table Tennis 2023 tournament, Goa Challengers beat Dabang Delhi with a score of 10-5 on Saturday. The match featured fan favorites like Sathiyan Gnanasekaran, Alvaro Robles and Sreeja Akula.

John Pearson and Alvaro Robles started the day in the men’s singles match. Alvaro Robles won the first match, 11-9. John Pearson, who lost the plot in the latter part of Game One, started Game Two well and won it 11-8.

However, Alvaro Robles proved too good for the Dabangg Delhi bat as he won the last over of the match with a score of 11-4.

In the second match, India’s Srija Akula had a slow start in the first match but later faltered to win 11-7. She lost the second game due to a series of unforced errors. On the final play of the match, she clinched the victory with a multi-point victory over the trot and took the game 11-9.

The mixed doubles match went in favor of the Goa rivals. Sathiyan/Barbora and Harmeet/Suthasini sounded horns in the third match. Harmit/Suthasini took game one 11-2.

Satyan made some unintentional mistakes. This helped Goa’s rivals finish the second match 11-6. The Dabangg Delhi duo came back stronger in the third period to win 11-4.

Harmeet Desai defeated Sathyan Gnanasekaran 3-0 in the fourth match. The first match saw Desai take an early lead. And he went on to capitalize on it to win 11-8.

The third match saw Gnanasekaran battle hard. The match went to Golden Point, but an error from the Dabang Delhi superstar gave it to Harmeet Desai.

In the last match of the day, Barbora Balazova and Suthasini Sawaitaput fought hard. Suthasini won the first match 11-7. But Barbora led 9-3 in the second half. A strong comeback from Suthasini saw her win the second match 11-9.

She won eight points on the trot to take a 2-0 lead in the game. Barbora then ended the match on a positive note by convincingly winning the final.


Ultimate Table Tennis 2023 Points Table: Updated after match 3

After the end of match three, Chennai Lions continue to lead the points table. Goa’s rivals moved up to second place with a massive win on Saturday. U Mumba TT, which also made a successful start in the league, is in third place.

Bengaluru Smashers is currently in the fourth position. Despite losing the tie, they win two matches against U Mumba TT and are ahead of the other two teams. Puneri Paltan TTC and Dabang Delhi TTC are at the bottom of the points table.
