The Tampa Bay Rays and Kansas City Royals have enjoyed a long break from the MLB All-Star game as their game Friday at Kauffman Stadium was delayed.
The Royals and Ray were expected to return to action from the All-Star festivities on Friday, July 14th. However, the contest was postponed to the next day due to severe weather conditions in the Kansas City area.
Most importantly, tickets for the postponed Friday game will be honored for the rescheduled game on Saturday. Thus, fans do not have to exchange their original tickets if they decide to attend a separate doubleheader on Saturday.

Tonight’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays has been postponed and will be tomorrow, July 15, as part of a doubleheader split with Game One starting at 1:10 p.m. CT and Game Two starting at 6:10 p.m. CT.
Here’s a look at the schedule for the double-double split between the Tampa Bay Rays vs. the Kansas City Royals on Saturday, July 15.
Both matches on Saturday will be a nine-game regulation one.
The Royals are fifth in the AL Central and headed for the All-Star break with a 26-65 record. Matt Quatraro’s team is unlikely to qualify for the playoffs barring a miracle in the second half of the season.
Kansas City will start with rookie Alec Marsh in Game 1 on Saturday. Meanwhile, Cole Ragans will start for the hosts in Game 2.
The Rays, on the other hand, lead the AL East with a 58-35 record. Kevin Cash’s team has an excellent campaign and is three games ahead of the second-place Baltimore Orioles. They are hoping to continue their impressive run in the second half of the season while also keeping one eye on the World Series.
Tampa Bay’s Tyler Glasnow will start for the opener on Saturday. The team has not yet announced the start of Game 2.
