Dhaka: At least four people were killed after the water bus they were sailing in capsized near Boarding Keraniganj district Buriganga River close Dhaka In Bangladesh, Dhaka Tribune reported.
The accident occurred at around 8:15 pm on Sunday after the water bus, which was heading to Telghat from Sadarghat in Dhaka, hit a barrier laden with sand.
Three units of the Fire Service and a Coast Guard rescue team rushed to the site and began rescue operations.
Officials said rescue efforts are still underway.
Other than the four confirmed deaths, eight people who were on board the plane at the time of the accident have been rescued, Dhaka Tribune reported quoting fire service officials.
Citing sources from the Sadarghat River Police Station, Dhaka Tribune reported that many of those on board are still missing.
According to the Acting Fire and Civil Defense Officer (Media) Shahjahan SardarAmong the eight people rescued were four men, three women and a child.
Director of Sir Salem Allah Medical Hospital, Dean Rashid Un Nabi He said that the bodies of the deceased are in the process of being transported.
