F1 pundit on Red Bull’s dominance compared to the humbling Turbo hybrid era for the team

Formula 1 expert Ben Anderson recently spoke about Red Bull themselves being the dominant team, something he used to criticize when Mercedes was at the head of the table. After the 2022 F1 regulation changes, the Austro-British team and its star driver, Max Verstappen, have wiped out every other team and driver on the grid.
Speaking on The Race F1 podcast, Anderson explained how Red Bull had somehow become the entity he himself hated a few years ago. And remember how the team used to complain about Mercedes’ dominance.
He further mentioned the great battle for second place in the 2023 F1 season, which involves many teams such as Mercedes, Ferrari, Aston Martin, and even McLaren.
Formula One expert said:
“Yeah, they became everything they hated, didn’t they? You know, throwing bricks at Mercedes the whole time they were in control, and now they’re back in that situation themselves. I think the reason we don’t talk much about them is just the frenzied nature of the battle right behind them. There’s a lot.” So many teams up and down trying to be second best at the moment which naturally gets distracting.”
Finally, Ben Anderson showed how Max Verstappen is somewhat following in the footsteps of Michael Schumacher in dominating both the qualifying sessions and the race by staying ahead at all times.
He completed:
“And of course, Verstappen achieved this kind of Schumacher-esque formula of qualifying on pole and controlling the race from the front, winning easily. So talking about that is pretty boring, isn’t it usually?”
Red Bull currently leads the Constructors’ Championship with 411 points, while Mercedes is second with only 203 points.
Max Verstappen on Red Bull’s new upgrade package arrives at the Hungarian Grand Prix
After winning the 2023 F1 British GP, Max Verstappen spoke about the most important thing being that Red Bull is completely stable at the top.
Moreover, he talked about how his team will bring new upgrade packages to Hungary that will improve low speed, high speed, DRS and tire efficiency.
In the post-race press conference, the Dutchman said:
“The stable factor so far is that every weekend we seem to be on top, which is of course the most important on our part. The Hungary track is very different, we will put some upgrades on the car there and hope they work well. Drag, low speed, medium speed, high speed, DRS impact, tire wear…all of those areas. That’s what we’re working on. I’m not kidding.”
This has been confirmed by Max Verstappen on Facebook @tweet
Verstappen comfortably leads the Drivers’ Championship with 255 points, while his Red Bull teammate, Sergio Perezin second place with 156 points.
