Indian Secular Front MLA Naushad Siddiqui was once again stopped on Sunday by police from entering his constituency of Bhangar in South 24 Parganas district, citing ban orders in the area under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CRPC).

Bhangar was the epicenter of political clashes in the run-up to the Panchayat elections.

He said, “I know Section 144 is there. I will not hold any meeting because I would like to visit my party office. There is only one person with me. Interestingly, Trinamool MLA Saokat Molla held a meeting there on Saturday. If Section 144 is valid, how did he That? It exposes the duplicity of the police.”

He also got into an argument with a police officer, who asked him, “Are you not ashamed of being prejudiced in uniform.”

My friend was denied entry to the precinct on Friday after he stayed there
His car waited for nearly eight hours to be allowed to move to the area.

Earlier in the day, Naushad got into his car in Hooghly, saying he hoped the police would allow him to visit his constituency. “I was illegally arrested on Friday. I’m going there again. Let’s see,” he said.

The MLA was stopped by the police at the Arts Acre junction near the Hatishala area which had a heavy police presence. One of our party’s candidates is still missing and I wanted to meet his family. Everything that is happening is undemocratic.”

Police on Saturday also stopped TMC MLA Saokat Molla and former MLA Arabul Islam when they were on their way to Kanthalia.
