An MLB analyst has shed some light on Aaron Judge’s stature. The tall player has not played a match since early June. With the Yankees staring down a more dangerous second half of the season, his legions of fans are desperate for any news at all.

According to CBS Sports insider Jim Bowden, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman has shared an important status update on Judge. According to Cashman, Judge is “moving in the right direction”, however, the club’s decision maker has not suggested any time frame for a potential return.

“Brian Cashman #Yankees GM just told us he thinks Aaron Judge is moving in the right direction, he’s going well, he’s running…he’s going to get a better idea after this wild ride…he’s responding well and encouraging” – Jim Bowden

On June 4, New York Yankees fans saw their jaws drop en masse after Aaron Judge hit an amazing catch in right field. The Yankees captain smashed through an outfield when Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder J.D. Martinez stole extra bases in Los Angeles.

While the play immediately became a worthy sequence, many were concerned for the judge’s welfare. The 6-foot-7 star hit 62 home runs to set the single-season record in the class last season, and it’s hard to underestimate his importance to the Yankees lineup.

Although Aaron Judge originally appeared to be up on the play, subsequent scans confirmed Yankees fans’ worst nightmares. The captain of the team suffered a broken toe.

Later, Yankees coach Aaron Boone’s refusal to give a guarantee that Judge would return by the end of the season sent fans into a panic. Many fans directly targeted Cashman for his perceived dishonesty to the organization, citing 2022 San Francisco Giants ace Carlos Rodon, who failed to make the opening roster with “day in and day out” issues, despite remaining at IL through July.

Yankees without Aaron Judge are a different club

The stark offensive differences between the team with and without the judge in the lineup have been widely noted. A team continues to score about half of the score when not playing. While these signs of improvement are encouraging, Cashman may want to practice being more accurate with fans when giving updates on this issue that’s so important to the well-being of the entire franchise.
