Final Fantasy 14 servers will be paused today, July 17, 2023, as Square Enix looks to bring patch update 6.45 to the servers. Downtime is expected to be very long. In addition to patching in the new set of changes, MMORPG will also perform scheduled server maintenance.
Final Fantasy 14 Patch 6.45 will bring a great deal of side activities and content to the MMO. However, some of the highlights of the update will be the new Variant Dungeons which have been one of the most anticipated additions to the game this month.

FF 14 servers will be offline today July 17, 2023 at 9 PM PDT. Downtime will be worldwide, and the game will become unavailable to all players at this time no matter what region they are in.
When will Final Fantasy 14 servers be back online with Patch 6.45?
Server downtime is expected to be around 6 hours, and the MMORPG will be available to all players on July 18, 2023, at 3:00 AM PST, according to Square Enix’s official announcement.
However, the completion time is subject to change, and the maintenance period can be longer depending on how well the track operation works.
All services affected by the Final Fantasy 14 server crash on July 17
When the FF14 servers are taken down later today, along with not being able to access the MMO, the following services will also be affected according to the official announcement post:
- Data Center Travel will be suspended 30 minutes before maintenance begins and will not be available until maintenance is completed.
- Some features of the “FINAL FANTASY XIV Companion App” will not be available until maintenance is complete.
- Any duty logger data that was recorded before this maintenance can no longer be returned after this maintenance.
Besides the above, some Mog Station services will also be suspended for 30 minutes before the servers are officially shut down for maintenance:
- Global Home Relocation Service
- Character renaming service
- Item code / gift code entry
As mentioned earlier, the expected downtime is around 6 hours, however, it can extend further depending on how well the maintenance is done.
