Excitement about the release Greta Gerwig Barbie and Christopher Nolan Oppenheimer all around us. This high-budget Hollywood blockbuster is set to hit theaters on Friday, July 21.
While Barbie is, as its name suggests, about the iconic doll, Oppenheimer is a biographical thriller based on J. Robert Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicist known as the “Father of the Atomic Bomb.” With their polar opposite themes and aesthetics, both films have inspired quite a bit of memes in recent weeks.
Now, the Mumbai Police has also jumped on the bandwagon and made a post on Instagram mentioning the two long-awaited films.
In it, the law enforcement agency warns people about taking drugs, driving without a helmet and sharing OTPs with strangers. This was how Power described it: “With such ‘Barbie’ actions, you are subscribing to Oppenheimer’s consequences.”
The post has more than 18,000 likes so far. Commenting, Universal Pictures India wrote, “Looks like this is also inspired by real events! #Oppenheimer”. Another person wrote, “The person dealing with this novel is dope 😂😂😂😂😂.”
However, not all people liked the Mumbai Police and argued that an active presence on social media does not make up for the lack of work on the ground. One Instagram user wrote, “A for effort, F for execution.”
This is not the first time that the Mumbai Police has drawn on pop culture trends while standing up for public safety issues. Earlier, the law enforcement agency indicated Deepika Padukone Star Gharyan To warn people against sharing one-time passwords (OTP). They are also used wisely “Kurkure lock” meme To get people to keep strong passwords.
