With Yamuna levels declining, the Delhi government has decided to partially lift the restrictions on entry of heavy goods vehicles into the national capital.

Transport Minister Kailash Jahlot said on July 13 that the government had banned the entry of heavy goods vehicles, except for those carrying necessities, into the city from four borders, including Singu, as a precautionary measure in view of the high levels of Yamuna.

“…it has been decided that the restrictions on the entry of heavy goods vehicles will be partially removed, in view of the receding water level of the Yamuna River and the improvement in the flooding situation in some parts of Delhi. The ban on the entry of heavy goods vehicles only from the Singu border will continue.”

Interstate buses will terminate from Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand terminating at ISBT Kashmere Gate at Singhu Border.

“The aforementioned directives will remain applicable until further orders. These instructions will not apply to trucks that transport basic commodities, medicines, raw vegetables, fruits, grains, milk, eggs, ice, etc., and tankers that transport petroleum products,” the statement added.
