Dodgers fans react to Arte Moreno’s decision of not sending Shohei Ohtani to city rivals: “Pettiness from little brother”

Controversy over Shohei Ohtani’s future with the Los Angeles Angels will likely continue until the trade deadline. Some of the early contenders for the services of the two-way phenom are city rivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers.
But some Dodgers fans are feeling dejected as reports suggest Angels management isn’t looking to trade their superstar just yet.
Ohtani will be heading to free agency after this year with Halos. He has been with the franchise since they entered MLB from the Nippon Professional Baseball League in Japan in 2018.

However, there was serious doubt about his future at the club as a player of playoff caliber as he lost an opportunity season after season due to the Angels’ inability to play well.
Thus there was pressure on Halos to extract the most out of Ohtani by trading him to a different club rather than letting him go for free at the end of the season.
With news of Angels owner Arte Moreno not being willing to trade Ohtani to the Dodgers, their fans have taken to Twitter to confidently stress the fact that their organization will have him on their side sooner or later in the off-season.
The New York Mets rival the Dodgers in signing Shuhei Ohtani
The most likely competition the Dodgers could face in signing Shohei Ohtani is from the New York Mets. The Steve Cohen-owned franchise has spent a lot overseas and will certainly be looking to do the same for a once in a generation player of sorts.
To be fair, not many teams can afford to have Ohtani’s services because they don’t have enough financial backing. But for those who do, like the New York Mets, the challenge remains getting The Show to the capital.
Shohei Ohtani has long maintained that he came to the United States just to play baseball. Due to his ability and determination, he could play for any team or even re-sign with Halos.
But what he’ll likely be looking for is the convenience of getting out and playing baseball with minimal risk.
