Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. Vice Captain Smriti Mandana’s 27th birthday in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on Tuesday 18th July. To make the occasion memorable, Mandana cut two cakes along with the Indian Ladies Team and support team.
In one of the pictures, Mandhana can be seen cutting the cake. In another tap, Captain Harmanpreet is seen placing the cake on the birthday girl’s face. Youngster Jemima Rodrigues also shared a group selfie with the team.
The elegant editor opted for a casual look, wearing a black T-shirt and sky blue jeans for her birthday.
Sharing the footage on Twitter, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) commented on the post:
“When the whole team gathers for Smriti Mandanna’s birthday.”
Earlier, on the same day, the BCCI official wished Mandana with a special tweet which read:
“I wish @mandhana_smriti – one of the best batsmen of the modern era and the vice-captain of the ODI and T20I team in #TeamIndia – a very happy birthday.”

Smriti Mandhana has so far failed to deliver the bat in the ongoing Bangladesh tour, which has three T20Is and several ODIs. She scored 38, 13 and one run in three T20I wickets. Despite this, India won the series 2-1.
Mandhana recently scored just 11 in the first ODI, as India lost 40 runs as they failed to chase down 153 from their 44 overs (via DLS method). You will look forward to making adjustments in the do-or-die game of India Women.
After the loss, India’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur blamed the batting unit after consecutive losses (third T20I and first ODI) against Bangladesh. She said in the post-match show:
“We didn’t take responsibility and hit well. In bowling also, we weren’t up to the mark. Sometimes some bowlers bowl too well. Generally we don’t measure up and we don’t play to our strength. We’ve done well in ODI cricket and we have to To support ourselves.”
The Women in Blue will next feature in their second ODI against the Bangladesh Women, set to be played at the Sher Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Wednesday (19 July).
