JEE Advanced 2023: The Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IIT R) is one of India’s leading institutions for engineering and technology education. The program offers bachelor’s degree courses in 10 disciplines of engineering and architecture and master’s degrees in 55 disciplines of engineering, applied sciences, architecture and planning.
The institute also has a facility for doctoral work in all departments and research centers. Students are admitted on the basis of their JEE score.
This year, IIT-Roorkee has improved its ranking across all criteria and continues to be the best college for architecture. The college was also ranked 5th in the newly added innovation category.

It has maintained its rank in the QS World University Rankings 2024. However, it did not participate in the Times World University Rankings because it boycotted it with five other international treaties on the issue of transparency of ranking criteria.

Founded in 1847, the Thomason College of Engineering, IIT Roorkee has completed nearly 175 years of existence. Over the years, it became Roorkee University and was converted to IIT on September 21, 2001.
