Mustafa Ali is looking to end North American Champion Wes Lee’s undefeated streak, which is the longest in WWE this year.
Ali made a surprise appearance on the May 30 episode of NXT, watching Lee and Tyler Bate take on The Dyad. He even helped them fend off Joe Gacy after the match before teasing them after the NXT North American Championship.
The 37-year-old then served as the special guest referee in Lee’s title defense against BATE at the NXT Gold Rush special on June 20. at The Great American Bash.
In a recent Twitter post, Ali teased ending Lee’s current undefeated streak and winning his first WWE Championship. Law shared, saying Lee has a 22-0 record this year, including televised matches and live matches.
Then the star subscriber A picture of himself looking at the watch. This may be a sign from Ali that time may be running out on Lee’s unbeaten streak.
NXT: The Great American Bash is scheduled to take place on July 30, 2023, at the HEB Center in Cedar Park, Texas. Mustafa Ali was drafted as a free agent in the 2023 WWE Draft and could appear on RAW, SmackDown, and NXT.
Shawn Michaels on Mustafa Ali’s return to NXT
During his recent appearance on Sports guys talk wrestling podcast, Shawn Michaels finally discussed working with Mustafa Ali in NXT. Michaels revealed that he is a huge fan of Ali and has huge plans for him.
“It hasn’t quite worked out for us as of late,” said Michaels. “And I tell you what, he’s a guy who, in my opinion, we’ve just seen the tip of the iceberg with him. We plan on unpacking and unleashing him here in NXT to really work and live out the potential here on the NXT brand as we head into the future.” (Erosion Wrestling news)
Mustafa Ali has been with WWE since 2016, starting with the Cruiserweight Classic before moving on to NXT and 205 Live. Ali was called up to the main roster in 2018 and has undergone several trick changes over the past two years.
