Kadarius Toney landed the perfect spot to continue his run after a rocky start in the pros.
The Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl without a suitable replacement for Tyreek Hill, but the team has high expectations in 2023 for Toney, a former first-round pick acquired in a trade during the previous year.
Drafted by the New York Giants after a productive career at the University of Florida, Tony is a fast wide receiver who can fly with the ball in his hands — just like Hill. While his time in New York didn’t quite work out as expected, he clearly has enough talent to play in the NFL.

Now, he has Andy Reid’s design touches to him to let him dominate through the pace while he develops his own running path and chemistry with Patrick Mahomes. It’s set to be a big year, and for the Fantasy Owners, getting explosive players who can make big plays out of nowhere is a huge deal.

A full season under Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes under center should make it a viable option for many fantasy owners over the course of 2023.
Obviously, you wouldn’t expect him to produce Justin Jefferson numbers. You can use it as a FLEX/WR3 option because it will probably be inconsistent week to week, but its gaming potential is huge. His average of 12.2 yards per catch and 2.44 yards per tackle are good numbers.
Most of this is projection, of course, but when you’re playing Patrick Mahomes, he’s being taught by Andy Reid and he has the qualities that Tony has, you can always expect something good to come out of him. Remember Mikul Hardman? He’s just as quick as he is – but the former Giants receiver is a much more complete player overall.
His goal tally isn’t high, but his catch rate of 82.4% is impressive and bodes well for the 2023 outlook. You can take him in the late rounds if he’s available and make him a tool on your roster in a matter of weeks as he’ll be using the passing game of chiefs a lot and getting him started.
