Bill Apter thinks that Dominic Mysterio’s NXT North American Championship could lead to some rift between the members of WWE’s Judgment Day.

This week NXT saw a massive title change when Dominik captured the North American Championship from Wes Lee in tonight’s main event. It wasn’t a clean win, however, as Finn Balor, Damien Priest and Rhea Ripley showed their presence by distracting Lee during the final moments of the match.

on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s not writtenBill Apter first mentioned that it was a “good move” by WWE to crown Dominic Mysterio as champion. The veteran journalist added that the show raised the bar for Dominik and NXT by having famous groups like Judgment Day appear on its programming.

Furthermore, Apter stated that Dominic’s victory could somehow lead to more friction between the Doomsday members.

“Yeah, good move. There was interference, of course, from Rhea Ripley. But good. They built it. They built NXT because there’s a crossover with Monday Night RAW and Judgment Day. Some more feud than Judgment Day might come out there. Let’s say Damien Priest.” He wants to hand over his MITB briefcase on NXT next week,” Apter said. (28:04 – 28:31)

Dominic Mysterio will defend his title against Mustafa Ali

Mustafa Ali was scheduled to challenge Wes Lee for the North American Championship at The Great American Bash prior to NXT this week. However, now that the nickname changed hands on Tuesday night, the 37-year-old will do just that challenge Dominic Mysterio on July 30 instead.

It is safe to say that Ali will not go easy against Dominic, because the latter will be accompanied by his stablemates. It remains to be seen if Mustafa Ali has any trick up his sleeve when he steps into the ring with the NXT North American Champion.
