Fans also wondered if there was an update on Kaithi 2, his rumored upcoming film with Rajinikanth.
Director El Kaithi has finished filming Leo and is working on post-production. When a student asked when Kaithi 2 will come out, Lokesh said, “I’m doing another movie after Leo, and Kaithi 2 will be next”.
Lokesh was also asked about the rumors that he is collaborating with Rajinikanth on his next film, which is being referred to as Thalaivar 171. Lokesh dodged the question saying, “He should say the production side. I can’t say anything, right? Let it come from the production side.” . However, it should be noted that Lokesh has not denied the speculations. Fans are now speculating if the movie before Keethi 2 was Rajinikanth’s movie.
Kaithi, the first film of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe, ended with protagonist Dilli (Karthi) getting away with his daughter on a national highway. The villain reveals that he has more to him than meets the eye. The film does not reveal Dailey’s background and past. His character reappeared in Vikram (2022) which showed him digging a well in Uttar Pradesh with his friend and daughter. We must see how Lokesh will tie up Vikram and Kethy’s story arcs.
Meanwhile, Leo, which is set to be released on October 19, is in post-production. Lokesh confirmed that the film’s audio launch will take place next September. Other than Vijay, Leo starred Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Mysskin, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Anurag Kashyap in important roles.
