World Flyweight Champion Miki Musumesi is happy to see older sister Tammy enjoying success early in her journey with the promotion but wants her to do more.
Darth Rigatoni said Tammy Musumesi must eliminate her opponents to secure a world title.
Mikey Musumeci boxed his sister at ONE Fight Night 12 on Prime Video July 14 in Bangkok and watched her pick up a unanimous decision victory over Ecuadorian-American opponent Amanda Alequin in her outstanding bout.
In an interview with the South China Morning Post, Miki Musumesi said he would like to see Tammy start by winning via finishes to be considered a title contender, which he said she was capable of.
The 27-year-old ONE World Champion said:
“I’m glad she won, but she should be able to finish matches faster, you know, so I just want her to get to the belt as soon as possible.”
Check out the interview below:
In the win against Amanda Elkin, Tammy Musumesi relied on her strong guard game and leg locks.
The 29-year-old New Jersey native met early resistance from her opponent but as the fight progressed, she wasn’t simply dismissed.
The win is Tammy Musumeci’s second unanimous decision after defeating Brazil’s Bianca Basilio in March.
She is looking forward to piling on more wins to earn the world championship title.
Miki Musumesi, for his part, successfully defended his world title back in May, and is set to be challenged next month by heavyweight king of mixed martial arts Jared Brooks in a champion vs. champion showdown.
ONE Fight Night 12 reboot is available for free to Prime Video subscribers in North America.
