Local authorities demolished the illegal parts of the property of three accused in Daba Road, Tanki Chowk and near Gold Bakery, Additional Police Inspector Akash Puria said.

Police said illegal parts of the property of three people arrested by police for allegedly “spitting” water at a religious procession in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh state, were destroyed by civic officials on Wednesday.

Local authorities demolished the illegal parts of the property of three accused located at Dhaba Road, Tanki Chowk and near Gold Bakery, Additional Police Inspector Akash Puria said. He said the list of accused was handed over to the Ujjain Municipal Authority after a case was registered against them by the police.

“The foundation found illegal installations in their homes, which were removed after it was announced that residents were allowed to transport their goods,” Borea said. Police have registered a case under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for disturbing community harmony against the trio in connection with the ‘spitting’ water incident that occurred on Monday.

Borea said two of the three accused appeared in court on Tuesday and were sent to a juvenile home, while the third accused was returned under judicial custody. According to the complaint, on Monday, some people who were part of Baba Mahakal Sawari’s convoy saw a few young men standing on the balcony of a building and spitting water on them.

Later, those part of the procession filmed a video of the little ones and filed a police complaint, Borea said. Earlier, the incident led to a protest by Hindu groups at the Kharakoa police station.
