CBI Questions Model Munmun Dhamecha in Corruption Case Against NCB Officer Sameer Wankhede

The FBI on Thursday questioned model Moonmoon Damica, who was arrested with SRK’s son Aryan in a drug case, in connection with her investigation against former DEA officer Sameer Wankidi, officials said.

The sources said that Demicha appeared before the investigation team at the CBI headquarters here this morning and her interrogation is still ongoing.

They said she was among those arrested by the NCB along with Aryan Khan on October 3, 2021, the day after the Cordelia cruise ship raid.

It was claimed that around 5 grams of Charas were found from Dhamecha during the NCB raid.

However, a Special Investigation Team (SET) from the NCB later red-flagged several loopholes and irregularities in the operation aboard the cruise ship conducted under the ‘monitoring’ of Mumbai’s then NCB District Director Sameer Wankidi.

The NCB has claimed that a private person, KP Gosavi, and his assistant Prabhakar Sail, since his death, have been listed as independent witnesses in the October 2, 2021 cruise ship raid at Wankhede’s direction.

Gosavi, his assistant Sanvil D’Souza and others were alleged to have entered into a plot to “extort 25 crore rupees” from the Aryan family by “threatening to charge them with drug possession offences”, the FIR on the case said.

In order to let him go free, Gosavi and D’Souza negotiated the amount which reduced him to Rs 18 crore and even collected a token of Rs 50,000 and returned part of the amount later, he said.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has booked IRS Officer Class of 2008 Wankhedi and four others – Vishwa Vijay Singh, Intelligence Officer Ashish Ranjan and two private persons K.P.
