Daniel Scully, a 30-year-old fitness freak from Australia, holds the world record for the most push-ups performed in an hour.
Scully completed 3,249 push-ups in one hour. The official Guinness World Records handle on Twitter shared the post about the Australian record for most push-ups.
Scully himself held the previous record for the most push-ups performed in one hour with 3,182 push-ups in April 2022. But in November 2022, Australian Lukas Helmek broke Daniel Scully’s world record for push-ups by performing 3,206 push-ups. Now, Scully has the record again.
Scully credits his training in Burpees with helping him succeed in this endeavor. Speaking of his rigorous training with Guinness World Records, he said:
“My fitness has reached an area where it has never been before. But not only that, it has helped me deal with my pain.”
Scully’s left arm, which was seriously fractured when he was 12 years old, now suffers from a disorder known as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). Pointing to the pain in his arm, he added:
“It’s the brain sending the wrong messages to my arm. So anything like soft touch, movement, wind, water, it’s going to cause me pain.”
Daniel Scully performed 60-minute push-ups Thursday morning, and the full video of the event was posted to the Guinness World Records YouTube channel. You can watch it below:
Speaking about the creation of the world record for push-ups, Scully said:
“Living with CRPS, the pain is always present in my left arm. About eight minutes later, I noticed my arm was starting to ache a little bit; from the top of my shoulder all the way down to my hand, it started to burn a little more… My whole body felt good, it just felt a little heavier as time went on.”
In addition to holding the world record for push-ups, Scully also holds the record for the longest abdominal plank, which he held for nine hours, thirty minutes and one second.
