Counseling NEET UG 2023: The NEET UG 2023 Counseling Registration Window has started today. The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) for undergraduate medical courses oversees the counseling process. The counseling process takes place in four rounds– Round 1, round 2, discard round and stray round.
New registrations must be made before the first round using the same email id and phone number as the NEET test form. A total of 15 percent of the seats of government colleges along with AIIMS and National Institutes will be filled in the first round of counselling.
MBBS applicants must check and match last year’s ranking from different colleges to fill out the selection. The selection must be locked by July 26th. The results will be announced on July 29.
After allocating the seats, the students can go for admission to the colleges. If the allotted seat is not suitable, he/she can reserve that seat and go for upgrade in the second round counselling. Students who did not get places in the first round can continue to the second round of advising starting August 9. According to the results obtained in the NEET exam, seats will be allocated to the students by August 18th.
Locking seats and going for an upgrade is also available on the mop tour. The purification round is mainly for the remaining vacant seats and seats from the considered universities. The date for this round starts from August 31st, followed by a selection lock by September 5th. Results will be released by September 8.
Generally, there are very few seats left after the catch round for the stray round. No new registrations can be made in this round. A student must be enrolled in any of the three rounds to go on a stray round.
Students need to be aware that different caste certificates are applicable in all India and state level counseling due to reservation at various state and central levels.
The procedure for the stray round will start from September 21st followed by selection filling and selection lock.
