Policemen are currently investigating how some of the cars found during the race were registered outside the station despite the accused being residents of the city.

Hyderabad Police have booked six people, including five businessmen, for allegedly racing their luxury cars such as Lamborghini, Ferrari and others on the Movie Towers road to test and compare the performance of their cars. The incident occurred on July 14, but appeared on Thursday.

Times of India I mentioned that, among other racing cars, there were an Audi, a Mercedes-Benz and two Innovas. The newspaper quoted S. Murali, SI at Narsinghe Police Station as saying, “They were speed testing Mercedes-Benz. While the accused owns two vehicles, one of them is registered with a company. We are still checking the ownership of the other three. The accused have been asked to produce the necessary documents.”

A case has been registered under Section 226 (An Act Endangering the Life or Personal Safety of Others) and Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act under the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The cars were also seized and turned over to a local court.

The case against the race car owners was booked after a complaint by Narsinghi Traffic Inspector Madhusudan Reddy, who said the six men were involved in the case of reckless driving in a public place.

“I received information about the car race. While the accused tried to escape, we were able to stop them.” TOI.

Cops are currently investigating how some of the cars that were found were registered in an off-road racing condition even though the accused are city residents. Lamborghini and Mercedes-Benz from Maharashtra and Audi from Puducherry.
