Former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain, who is currently on provisional bail in a money laundering case, underwent spinal surgery at a private hospital in the city and Prime Minister Arvind Kejriwal prayed for his speedy recovery on Saturday.

Three major hospitals recommended Jain for the critical spine surgery. Sources said he underwent surgery at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital on Friday evening.

In a tweet in Hindi, Kejriwal said, “Pray to God that Satyendar Jain will return home after recovering soon. He worked for the health of crore people as a Delhi government minister. God’s blessings and prayers of crore people are with him. He will return to serve the people after recovery.”

Jin is currently on temporary bail due to his medical treatment. He was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital earlier in May due to a rapidly deteriorating spinal condition, as a result of a fall in Tihar Jail.

Sources claimed that Jain had become “extremely frail and frail” and had difficulty walking without support.

One source claimed that “Jain, who is suffering from severe muscle loss, has also lost 35 kg while in jail… He sleeps at night with the help of a BiPAP machine that constantly forces air into his lungs.”

“In view of the spine surgery – the doctors saw that he would need a few months to rehabilitate and recover. He advised that he should be very careful and have complete bed rest during this period.”

He is not allowed to bend or rotate his body. They claimed that he needed help with daily chores and ablutions.
