Manipur Video News: Tensions escalated in the hills of Manipur after a May 4 video surfaced online on Wednesday showing two women from a warring community in the state’s Kangpukpi district being paraded naked by a mob from the other side.

A total of five people have been arrested in the horrific Manipur ‘stripping’ case after a 19-year-old accused was arrested late on Friday. The detainee has been identified as Yomlimbam Nongsithwe.

Tensions escalated in the hills of Manipur after a May 4 video surfaced online on Wednesday showing two women from one of the warring communities in the state’s Kang Bokpe district, being paraded naked by a mob from the other side.

Manipur Police on the same night registered a case of kidnapping, gang rape and murder at Nongbok Sikmai Police Station in Thoubal District against unknown men, by taking action in this matter. Official sources said four people have been arrested in connection with the incident since then.
