Joint Commissioner for Police, Law and Order, Upendra Agarwal, said that the police have observed that most often, it is government vehicles that break the law.
A police officer said Lucknow Police will now start “naming and shaming” VIPs and government vehicles parked in any of the 11 designated “no parking” areas in the city.
Police imposed a ‘No Parking Zone’ on 11 major roads from 24 July after implementing a proper awareness campaign.
Some of these districts include Hazratganj, Alambagh, Mahanagar, Gomti Nagar, Chowk, and Gautam Palli.
Joint Commissioner for Police and Law and Order, Upendra Agarwal, said that the police have observed that more often than not, it is government vehicles that break the law.
He added, “We have decided that if any government vehicle is found in the designated ‘no parking zone’ in the selected places, strict action will be taken against it.”
“We will announce the government vehicles which are found parked in the no parking zone along 11 roads and we will also write to the concerned department to which the vehicle belongs,” Agarwal said.
He added that for the first time, the Traffic Police has purchased some cranes for towing vehicles, and they will be managed, managed and dealt with by the Traffic Department.
Until now, LMC winches are used to tow vehicles that have been outsourced to private companies. The officer said: “These cranes will contain appropriate cameras and will ensure that no damage occurs to the vehicle and also that a suitable image is clicked for the place from which it was lifted.”
