In the post-match show after Gujarat Titans’ 56-run win over Lucknow Super Giants, Wriddhiman Saha in a discussion with KS Bharat, revealed the reason for the confusion and why he wore the pants the other way.
After the break, KS Bharat came out as a substitute wicket-keeper but the umpires did not allow him to continue. Saha, who was doing the ‘dry needling’, had to scurry backwards and hastily pulled his pants in reverse.
Bharat laughed, “I told the judges that you (Saha) are having your needle session, but they wouldn’t let me stay.”

Saha explained, “I was eating, then the doctor told me to take medicine, and in the meantime, the needle session was also going on. In my hurry, I put the pants inside out. But after two comings, I came back and did a great job.”
Saha and Shubman Gill put on 142 runs for the first wicket in just 12.1 overs, setting the franchise record for the highest partnership for any wicket, as LSG had no rest despite posting eight bowlers in the attack.
“The preparation was like every match. In the last match I scored 40 and Hardik played well. I wanted to go forward with the same momentum. My plus point is that I take chances in the powerplay. My strength lies in playing cricket shots and I favor myself to pick the gaps.”
Saha got off the blocks quickly to put pressure on the visiting bowlers, hitting Mohsin Khan for a couple of fours and Avish Khan for six and four in the first two overs of the innings.
The Gujarat wicket-keeper continued his attack on Mohsin in the left-arm second over, hitting him for sixty-sixes and fours apiece to take the defending champions past the fifty-run mark inside four runs.
“The middle order and the top order contribute really well together. Schopmann was doing that and I joined him today. As a team, we look like a good deal and hopefully we can carry this forward.”
