Jeremy Meadow expects his ONE Fight Night 11 opponent, Mansur Malachiev, to rely on his submission skills during the high stakes match at Lumpinee Boxing Arena.
Miado is currently riding a four-way winning streak inside the circuit, each of which comes via a ball-worthy knockout. On the cusp of a ONE world title opportunity, the Philippine superstar will welcome ONE Championship newcomer Mansur Malachiev to the world stage as the two are set to battle it out on June 9.
With Malakiev’s penchant for finishing opponents on the ground, Jeremy Meadow believes this is exactly where the Russian newcomer will try to take matters into his own hands. Instead, Meadow will look to keep things standing where he feels he has the advantage. He shared his thoughts on the match during a recent conversation with MMA SuperfanMeado said:
“He’s got a good jab, but I think I’m still ahead of him in that department. I really expect him to bring the fight to the ground and go for the submissions and that’s why we’ve focused on that more here in our camp.”
With a win, Jeremy Meadow could find himself one-on-one in line for a one-on-one world title opportunity against reigning strawweight champ Jared “The Monkey God” Brooks. That will be easier said than done as he meets a Russian who hasn’t seen a loss after nearly a decade.
Mansur Malachiev will be making his ONE Championship debut riding a 10-fight winning streak with eight of those victories coming to an end. A win over ‘The Jaguar’ at ONE Fight Night 11 would allow Malachev the chance to jump to the head of the line and immediately enter the ONE World Title picture.
Amazon Prime Video subscribers in North America can watch ONE Fight Night 11 live and free in US prime time on June 9.
